What Business is Chill Services really in?Posted by Mark Hill in Workshop, Product Management, New Site, Marketing, Business Plan |
As many of you know, we at Chill Services are in our second day of reinventing our self. There have not been many changes, aside from the new look and feel of the web site, and a more interactive blog tool, as well as the expansion of our staff with the addition of Irfan Musani, our IT lead, and Mary Wimbish, a trail attorney most recently noted for her diligence and support of the City of Houston's Waste Water Treatment and Transportation Ordinance, as well as being a significant resource to help the city close down illegal waste water hauler operations. But fundamentally, we are still involved in helping the business owner reach their goals.
In Jeff Cornwalls blog "Words of Wisdom from a Young Entrepreneur", I read that "...no matter what your business plan says, listen to your market. Your customers will tell you what they really want and how you can really make money."
I was struck with a notion that even though we are in our second generation of re-inventing the Chill Services suite of services, we have still held close to our core competencies. That is, that our strength is in our ability to provide process and structure, while keeping the customer requirements top of mind, be it our expertise in product development, or leveraging advance/ high technology, through one of our coaching services, to any of the eCom, eFinance, or Business Process and Optimization strategies.
The core principal at the root of our core industry experience is still process, and how we provide the services that allow the customer to succeed. When a consultant focuses on how to benefit the customer, you seldom worry about "What's in it for me?", because as a consultant, we are measured on the success of our clients' services or products that we are involved in.
If our clients are not successful, it is doubtful that a consultancy that coaches or works on behalf of that client will be long lived.
