After reading "The Entrepreneurial Mind" this morning where Jeff Cornwall

Director of the Belmont University, Center for Entrepreneurship, post on "Join in on this M

onth's Ideablob Voting" where Jeff writes about 8 finalists vying for a $10,000 prize in $10K prize at ideablob.

IdeaBlob.com started life as web site dedicated entrepreneurs and small business owners, where they can share and grow their business ideas and have a chance to winning $10,000 towards fulfilling those ideas.

If you are familiar with the history of Advanta, an idea  that began in 1951 with less than $100 in seed money, and big dreams. Today, as a respected company with close to 1,000 employees and well over one million small business customers nationwide. If not, then here is the short version.

Advanta was founded by Jack Alter, a Philadelphia, PA schoolteacher, to provide individual, needs-based loans to fellow teachers. Today, Advanta has grown to be one of the nation's largest credit card issuers (through Advanta Bank Corp.) in the small business market. Advanta's exclusive focus on the small business market, as well as its size, experience and commitment to developing meaningful product offerings and a high level of service tailored to the needs of small businesses.

One of the participants in the final eight, which ends today was was Collin LaHay, of St. Louis Park, MN.

Collin is an 18-year-old Student, Internet Marketer and Entrepreneur. His idea is to develop rssHugger.com, as a site, which helps bloggers promote their blogs and helps visitors discover new blogs about subjects they are interested in.

After voting for Collins site, for 2 reasons:

  1. I admire create thinkers, especially in our younger Entrepreneurs, and
  2. I like to see innovative ways of promoting technology, and services.

I am hopefully, for personal reason, that the site is a smashing success. That being said, I've just joined rssHugger and have opted to promote Collin's site on my blog, and will keep you posted on the success.

Please let me know what you think?
